Welcome to St. Frances of Rome School! We offer a straightforward application process to help your child join our vibrant community, ensuring every family feels supported and informed. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until classes are full, and please remember that children entering Early Learner 5 must be 5 years old by September 1.

Schedule a Tour
To begin the admissions process, we invite prospective families to arrange a tour to learn more about our school, staff, and educational program. For scheduling an in-person tour, feel free to contact us at 708-652-2277 Ext. 301 or complete our online form, and a member of the admissions team will reach out to you.
Enrollment Process
We pride ourselves on our easy and free admission process, designed to make your journey as smooth as possible. We ask for certain documentation to ensure we provide your child with the best educational experience. However, we understand that gathering everything at once can be challenging, so you are welcome to submit the documents you currently have. Any remaining items can be submitted as they become available. We aim to work with you every step of the way to ensure your child's seamless transition into our school community. · Birth Certificate · Test Scores (2-8). Submit scores of standardized tests such as iReady, CogAT, MAP, etc. · Recommendation form (2-8). Please have a current teacher complete the form. · IEP/504 plans. Only if your child has one.
Financial Aid
Financial aid is available for all students, including those in PK with Preschool for All and Action for Children, Early Learner 5 through Action for Children, and grades 1-8 through the Big Shoulders Fund. We are committed to ensuring every child has access to a high-quality education, regardless of financial circumstances. Our financial aid application process is free and simple, designed to make applying easier for families. To get started, please gather the following documents to help us assess your financial need and provide the support your child deserves. • The first page of your 2023 1040 tax form. • The number of people in your household. • The number of children you are enrolling. • Your estimated monthly tuition contribution (this information is used to process your application and does not imply this will be your tuition payment). Financial aid documentation can be submitted via email to nrivera@sfr-school.org or dropped off at the school office. Applications will be processed as soon as all required information is received.

What if a tuition payment is returned?If a payment is returned, FACTS will automatically add a $30 Return Payment Fee to the family's FACTS account. The Tuition Coordinator will be in contact with families regarding their missed payment(s). Families will have up to one week to make the necessary arrangements to fulfill their past-due balance and return payment fee(s). If the amount is not fulfilled by then, an interruption of attendance may take place for the students. We appreciate all the efforts and sacrifices families make to provide quality education for the students.

What are the uniform requirements?Students in grades K-8 must wear appropriate uniforms and shoes. Students must also wear gym uniforms on the days the class is assigned to them. Please view the requirements in the document: .

Do you offer any Hot Meal programs?Update: For the 2024-2025 school year, the State of Illinois is providing free lunch to all students, including students attending a private school such as St. Frances of Rome School. A hot lunch is available each day to students. There is a fee for this; however, some families may qualify for financial assistance with the hot meals programs. Students may bring lunches made from home to the school. Parents are prohibited from bringing lunches to the students during the day. If a homemade lunch is forgotten, the school will provide the student with a free lunch this school year.

Do you have Preschool For All?St. Frances of Rome School offers Preschool for All, a State of Illinois initiative ensuring high-quality preschool programs are available to 3 and 4-year old children. The Preschool for All program is a five-hour, five-day a week program provided to eligible families at no charge. To qualify, a family needs to be screened in a 60 minute process (30 minutes for the parents, 30 minutes for the child) via Zoom. Families for qualifying families that require full day care may utilize our full day program with a prorated tuition rate. What is your tuition process?We offer a tuition structure to support families in every aspect of their child's education. This tuition covers books, technology, and fundraising fees. It does not include fees for mandatory field trips, graduation, computer insurance, or extracurricular activities. Additionally, we tailor your monthly payment plan based on your financial needs, making quality education accessible and affordable for all families. This way, we remain committed to providing every student with a nurturing and equitable educational experience. St. Frances of Rome School has partnered with FACTS Management to handle tuition payments. Payments will be processed automatically from your bank account or debit/credit card. Please note that a 3% service fee applies to debit/credit card payments. FACTS offers flexible payment options, including annual, biannual, monthly, biweekly, or weekly payments. To adjust your payment schedule, contact our Tuition Coordinator, Jennifer Garcia, at jgarcia@sfr-school.org.

Is before and after school care available?There is both before-school and after-school care available for your child. Before-school care begins at 7 am and after-school care is available from 2:40 pm until 6 pm. Costs are as follows: Before-school care: $7 a day per child After-school care: $7 from 2:40 pm - 3:40 pm and $10 from 3:40 pm - 6:00 pm Please note there is a late fee charged for children who are not picked up by 6:00 pm $1 per minute that must be paid in cash at the time of pick up. Before and after care fees will be added to your FACTS account every month. A $14 registration fee will be included in the first monthly bill.

Are there fundraising requirements?Fundraising events are no longer a requirement for our families. However, to provide the best education at an affordable price, we need the help of parents to raise funds for the school. We encourage families to participate in the fundraisers throughout the school year.

Are scholarships available?To help families, St. Mary Frances of the Five Wounds gives a $1,000 tuition discount from the start, this is automatically applied to each student's annual tuition. We recognize that some families will require further assistance to be able to give their children the best education by enrolling them in our school. Scholarships are awarded to students from Pre-K to 8th grade based on their needs and fund availability thanks to FACTS management system and our partners at Big Shoulders Fund. When you start the registration process our team will automatically assist with the scholarship application process. Our commitment is to turn your family's dream of a Catholic education into a tangible opportunity, and we are committed to offering extensive assistance.

Are there volunteer requirements?Yes, as the education and formation of St. Frances of Rome School is the work of parents, teachers, staff, and the parish community. We require that each family give 15 hours of their time helping with school and/or parish events. Any hour not completed will be an additional fee that the parents must pay by May of each year. This fee will be added to families FACTS account under PCP. Parents who would like to help as volunteers at our school and/or parish events must complete all the requirements before the event. To have volunteer hours count towards PCP the volunteer must be compliant and approved by the Site Administrator. These requirements are implemented by the Archdiocese of Chicago for the safety of the students and volunteers. We offer several scholarship opportunities and encourage families to review these options. FACTS Payment Plans integrates with the Grant & Aid Financial Needs Assessment on a single platform. Enrolling in a FACTS tuition payment plan allows you to choose a payment option that fits your financial needs. To apply for financial aid, you must create an account with FACTS.

As a Big Shoulders Fund school, we offer need-based and merit scholarships to many students and actively pursue funds and grants to keep tuition fees affordable.

Preschool for All is a State of Illinois initiative ensuring high-quality preschool programs are available to 3 and 4-year old children. The Preschool for All program is a five-hour, five-day a week program provided to eligible families at no charge.
