Seminary Visit
On Friday, April 20th, the 3rd and 7th grades went to Mundelein Seminary to visit Deacon Bobby Kruger who is being ordained to the priesthood May 12, 2012. The students spent the day with him learning about vocations as well as the seminary and all it has to offer. Hopefully, some will be inspired to listen to God’s call and follow Bobby into the priesthood or into the religious life as a sister, brother or deacon.
Cicero Catholic Schools Summer Program
This summer the Cicero Catholic Schools will again be offering a full-day Summer School Program that will begin on Monday, June 18, and ends on Thursday, July 19. The program will be held at Saint Frances of Rome School, 1401 S. Austin Blvd. It is open to students who are currently enrolled in pre-school through 7th grade. Program hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Each morning the program will focus on the development of literacy and math skills. Afternoons will include a variety of components—science experiments, sports, computers, arts and crafts, music—that will change each day. Each Thursday, a field trip will be taken to an attraction in the Chicagoland area, therefore the day might be extended to accommodate the needs of an individual trip.
Enrollment is limited to 250 students.
The Registration Fee for the summer program is $25 PER CHILD and must be returned along with the registration form found in the Parents On-line forms area of this website. The registration fee is non-refundable. The cost of the program, excluding the registration fee, is PER FAMILY as follows:
$275.00 - 1 child
$450.00 - 2 children
$550.00 - 3 children
$625.00 - 4 children
The program fee applies to members of the same immediate family (brothers and sisters only). This fee includes all daily meals and field trips. This fee must be paid by the first day of classes on June 18. If you have any questions, please call the St Frances of Rome School office at 708-652-2277.

5K Walk Run
The second annual 5K Walk/Run will take place on Saturday, April 21, 2012, and online registration is now live! Last year’s inaugural event was a great success, and we are looking forward to a larger event this year. Come joins us as we run in support of Catholic education here in Cicero. This year’s race will begin and end at Our Lady of Charity School. Individual registration will cost $15, and family registration will cost $40. New Preschool Program for Three-year-olds
Saint Frances of Rome is excited to announce the start of a full day Three Year Old Preschool Program beginning Fall 2012! The class is limited. Students entering the program need to be 3 years old by September 1, 2012. For registration information or to schedule a time to visit our school, please contact our school office at 708-652-2277. Registration fee is $200 per family.
Mardi Gras Gala February 18
The annual Mardi Gras Gala will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2012 in the school auditorium. Tickets are on sale now and going fast! Dinner tickets are $45 each and include admission, dinner, dancing, and an open bar. You may buy your dinner tickets in the school office or after all weekend masses. If you have any items you would like to donate for the silent auction, please drop them off in the school office or rectory. Distinguished Service Award
Congratulations to Mrs. Maureen Martin, our dedicated 5th grade teacher. We are proud to announce that Mrs. Martin was recently chosen as the winner of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Distinguished Service Award. The award is given to a select number of teachers throughout the Archdiocese for dedication to Catholic Schools.
Saints and Scholars Open House
Save the date for Saint Frances of Rome's Open House, which will be held on Thursday, February 2nd during Catholic Schools Week from 6:00-7:30 pm. Come visit each classroom and watch as our students demonstrate how they are saints and scholars through various curriculum activities. Registration for the 2012-2013 school year will also begin on this night. Come take advantage of the $150 early registration fee. We look forward to seeing you there.
